Meet the STUNSIG artists – part 2

In the new STUNSIG collection IKEA invited artists and designers to make ordinary products extraordinary. We wanted to tell you a little about the creative minds behind the collection.

Frédérique Vernillet has a sharp, ultra-realistic drawing style and with her poetic inspiration, she modernizes the old fashion universe of figurative illustrations. She has designed a capsule collection for the brand Aigle, packaging for a Diptyque scent as well as showcasing her work in the windows of the Printemps Haussmann department store. She makes a point to vary the materials she uses and the collaborations she picks.

Los Angeles-based artist Malcolm Stuart has carefully woven the two worlds of dance and visual arts together through the creation of costume and makeup for performances – he has created costumes for the likes of Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Ke$ha. He uses airbrush techniques to seamlessly merge two-dimensional forms with flesh and clothing.

Another artist whose work crosses into multiple fields is Copenhagen-based fashion designer Tilde Bay. Educated in the fashion department of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design she works with an artistic angle to fashion, but also has a certain passion and flair for set design, styling and graphic work.
