Take an IKEA bike ride
Join Oskar Juhlin, Jan Puranen and Kristian Eke as they ride around the island of Södermalm in Stockholm and share with us the process of developing the Red Dot Award winning bike SLADDA with IKEA.
The design thinking behind SLADDA is to keep it simple and focus on quality. It’s not a bicycle that can do everything, but what it can do, these self-proclaimed bike nerds and designers made sure it can do really well.
The bicycle is made to fit into people’s everyday. “We want them to think ‘nice bike’ but also that it’s unique, IKEA and modern,” says Oskar Juhlin.
The frame and form of SLADDA is seen as a platform with the possibility of growing and expanding for a long period of time, it is simply just the beginning of a much larger project with huge possibilities.
