Get ready for a new party experience

Planning for a last-minute party but missing the gear? No worries, IKEA will come to the rescue. With FREKVENS collection, created in collaboration with Teenage Engineering, you get the whole party kit together in no time – and you can have the bash just about anywhere.

It’s true, we promise (all was revealed just now at IKEA Democratic Design Days). In the near future, you’ll be able to get all you need for a super bash at IKEA.

“When you are younger you usually come up with the idea of a party the same day and I think a lot of people use IKEA that way. ‘I’m going to have a party, I need some glasses, napkins, candles and stuff and will go to IKEA to get it.’ For us, it is about finding a reason to make and play some music. Thinking about the totality of what you need for a party is a good start”, says Jesper Kouthoofd, head of design and CEO at the consumer electronics company that is Teenage Engineering.

The business is made up of Jesper himself, on stage at Democratic Design Days, and three friends, all engineers and computer programmers sharing the love for building stuff and making music. Their mission is simple, Jesper tells the Älmhult audience. It’s to create the things they think are missing in the world – things like vinyl record players, synthesizers, cameras and lots more.

You’ve seen the teaser, now he’s here…
