The result of IKEA partnering with social businesses has always been a selection of affordable limited edition collections and products. These collections and products are key in keeping the IKEA offer exciting and unique. And with global products available throughout the year, items from a social business are always accessible at IKEA.

2021

For LOKALT we combine local up-and-coming designers with experienced local artisans from Jordan, Thailand and India to create a collection that focuses on socialising and celebrating. The collection is based on materials such as jute, banana fibres, cotton and stoneware.

2020

BOTANISK was a handmade collection made up of plant pots, baskets, paper pot maker, plant pot cover, tool bag – based on natural materials like banana fibre, jute, and cotton. The collection is created in collaboration with six social entrepreneurs: Rangsutra, Industree and Ramesh Flowers in India, Doi Tung DP in Thailand, Jordan River Foundation in Jordan, and MBQ in Romania.

Hand embroidered cushion covers MOAKAJSA and KLARAFINA use two different techniques. These global products are made in collaboration with Rangsutra in India, and are designed by Akanksha Deo.

This hand-embroidered cushion cover from the TILLTALANDE collection, was made in collaboration with Jordan River Foundation, who work to create long-term livelihoods for female artisans, both Jordanians and Syrian refugees.

2019

Together with designer Martin Bergström, ANNANSTANS was produced with artisans in India, Romania, Thailand and Jordan. The collection features everything from scarves and bags, to ceramic bowls, banana-fibre baskets and wooden sculptures.

With HANTVERK, Scandinavian handicraft tradition was mixed with new inspiration from around the world. The outcome was handmade baskets, ceramics, textiles and more. The collection was a collaboration between the many skilled artisans of Doi Tung Development in Thailand, Industree and Rangsutra in India, Jordan river Foundation in Jordan, MBQ in Romania and IKEA designers.

2018

The INNEHÅLLSRIK collection was made from natural materials and showcases traditional handicraft, including banana fibre baskets, handwoven and hand embroidered blankets, towels and cushion covers. The collection was developed together with skilled artisans from Rangsutra and Industree.

2017

EFTERTANKE included hand woven textiles, hand-formed and finished pottery, and handmade paper products. The collection was a collaboration with the many skilled artisans of the Doi Tung Development project in Thailand.

HEMGJORD included hand embroidered and finished cushion covers, chair pads, table runners and hand-woven bags and pouffes in renewable banana fibre. The collection was produced through the partnership between IKEA and the social enterprises Rangsutra and Industree in India.

TILLTALANDE was a collection of precious, hand-crafted textiles made in collaboration with Jordan River Foundation and women artisans, both Jordanian locals and refugees. The collection included cushion covers, rugs, and floor cushions.

For the production of the UTZ/Rainforest Alliance certified, single-origin PÅTÅR coffee, IKEA partnered with Ahlod Kawacom. They have a long-term collaboration with small farm holders in the White Nile Region in Uganda. The coffee is sold in IKEA stores globally.

2016

The FULLVIKTIG collection was co-created by IKEA and artisans at the Doi Tung Development Project in Thailand, using traditional handicraft techniques and local raw materials. The collection included hand woven textiles, hand-formed and finished pottery as well as handmade paper products.

The KRYDDAD collection focused on hand embroidered products such as cushion covers, chair pads and table runners. In addition, it featured products made of renewable banana fibre, such as baskets, boxes and laundry bags. The collection was produced through the partnership between IKEA and the social enterprises Rangsutra and Industree Producer Transform in India.

2015

HEMTRAKT included textile products such as hand embroidered accessory bags, cushion covers, table runners, napkins, as well as products made of renewable banana fibre such as hand-woven bags, baskets, boxes and pouffes. The handcrafted collection was co-created by IKEA and social entrepreneurs in India.

The KRYDDGLAD limited edition collection was the result of the partnership between IKEA and the social enterprises Rangsutra and Industree Producer Transform in India. The collection included hand-woven banana fibre baskets, storageboxes, place mats and pouffes as well as handembroidered cushion covers, tablecloths, table runners and makeup bags.

The STADIGT collection included hand-embroidered cushion covers and throws, hand-woven pouffes, cushions and storage boxes and baskets in natural banana fibres. The collection was produced through the partnership between IKEA and the social enterprises Rangsutra and Industree Producer Transform in India.

2014

The INVERKAN collection offered pottery and textile pieces that include teacups, serving plates, bowls, candle holders, vases and hand-woven and hand-finished textile cushion covers and throws. The collection was made in collaboration with local artisans from Doi Tung in northern Thailand.

2013

BEDRIVA was the very first IKEA social entrepreneur limited edition collection, made in collaboration with local artisans from Doi Tung in northern Thailand. It offered handmade pottery and textiles pieces including serving plates, bowls, and vases; as well as hand-woven textiles such as throws and table mats.

UPPTAGEN, FNITTRA and LYKTRANKA featured hand-embroidered textiles and woven baskets made of natural fibres. The collection was created in collaboration with Industree Producer Transform and Swaayam Kala in India.
