Our sustainability focus areas
The challenges we face including unsustainable consumption, climate change and nature loss, as well as rising inequality, all require urgent and bold action. Our sustainability work, which sets ambitions and commitments to reach by our financial year 2030, is organised into three focus areas:
Our three focus areas are:
- Healthy and sustainable living
- Climate, nature and circularity
- Fair and equal
Healthy and sustainable living
Our commitments for FY 2030 include offering home furnishing products, services and solutions that support a healthy and sustainable life at home as well as offering a food range that supports healthy and sustainable eating. We’re also working to contribute to a shift in society where healthy and sustainable lifestyles become the default.
Climate, nature and circularity
We’re committed to halving emissions from the IKEA value chain by FY 2030 on our way towards net zero by FY 2050. At the same time, we’re transitioning towards a circular business and working to regenerate resources, protect ecosystems and improve biodiversity.
Fair and equal
We’re committed to being a responsible business and contributing to resillient societies, by FY 2030. Our ambition is to play our full part in contributing to a fair and equal society, by respecting and promoting human rights across the value chain and contributing to resilient societies.
